Wayfarer Music Group has definitely been growing leaps and bounds over the past couple of years. Our vision of being a top entertainment brand fueled by one of the finest music collectives out there continues to be inspiring and the key to our success. With that, we are elated to announce the addition of two incredible artists to the Wayfarer Music Group family.
Gray Legere is a drummer, composer, and producer whose musical journey began in upstate New York. Introduced to music through plush headphones connected to a Vietnam era living room turntable, he developed a deep passion for the art form. Making his way to NYC’s Greenwich Village, Gray quickly became a dedicated servant of the song a commitment that has defined his career. Gray has engineered and played on music for networks such as Comedy Central, ESPN, and the BBC while his drumming has supported a diverse array of artists across multiple genres. Whether behind the kit or composing in solitude, his journey remains one of discovery, expression, and unfiltered creativity.
Keith Fiala is an Austin Winds endorsed trumpet artist, and one of the most exciting, innovative, and versatile trumpet players and educators/clinicians on the music scene today. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Fiala moved to Austin, Texas in 1988 to study music performance at the University of Texas with Raymond Crisara, who was the principal trumpet with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra from 1941 to 1943. A First Call trumpeter in Austin and throughout the Lone Star State, Keith co-founded, and was a performer with, the celebrated R&B group, Memphis Train Revue. Fiala toured the world performing with his mentor, the legendary trumpeter and bandleader, Maynard Ferguson. In 2017, Keith joined his long-time hero, ten-time Grammy® winner, Arturo Sandoval, to assist him in all facets of his amazing career. Keith assisted Arturo as road manager, audio engineer, video producer, as well as performing on stage. A dedicated educator and clinician, Fiala taught at the prestigious Austin School of Music and held the position of Trumpet Teacher at Temple College, where he performed as lead trumpet in the Temple Jazz Orchestra and featured soloist for the Temple Fusion group for 10 years. Keith is the author of the celebrated trumpet diagnostic methodology, “About Face: Let’s Play All Night,” as well as the book, “Secrets To Efficient Brass Playing.” In addition to sharing the stage with Arturo Sandoval, Fiala has performed with other jazz greats, Gordon Goodwin, Wayne Bergeron, Randy Brecker, The Temptations, Brian Lynch, Allen Vizzutti, Bill Watrous, Dan Higgins, Charles Davis, Walt Johnson, Tom “Bones” Malone, and a host of many others.
Both of these amazing artists will be releasing material on both Wayfarer Records and Groovetron Records in the near future as well as collaborating on a number of releases with their fellow Wayfarers! WELCOME HOME BOYS and repeat after me….. “WE ARE THE WAYFARERS!!!”
