We are very excited to announce that you will soon be able to listen to all your favorite Wayfarer artists while doing your daily workout. As part of a brand-new business partnership, Wayfarer Music Group’s future catalog will be available on Peloton exercise equipment. You’ll soon be able to workout to your favorite chill or electronic track followed by a cooldown from some fabulous ambient or acoustic from Wayfarer’s amazing roster of artists. We are overjoyed to have our music available on such an iconic brand.

Wayfarer Music Group welcomes THREE new artists

Wayfarer Music Group is wasting no time in pursuing talent for their amazing roster of artists. The amount of artists interested in the ideals that Wayfarer is built on continues to grow and we are excited to announce three new additions to the Wayfarer family as we embark on this new chapter as Wayfarer Music Group.

In the tradition of Ladies first, we are absolutely overjoyed that the incomparable Michelle Qureshi is now a part of the Wayfarer family of artists. Already extremely well known among music fans worldwide, Michelle became interested in Wayfarer after collaborating with a number of our artists. Her collaboration with popular electronic artist ELEON entitled “Dreamfields” is a mainstay on popular radio shows including Echoes and Music with Space. She was recently featured on Dave Luxton’s “Embers of Me” and Michelle is currently in production for a full-length duo project with Wayfarer President Sean O’Bryan Smith entitled “One is All”.

Next up is popular Atlanta based composer and solo bassist Benny St. Peixe. Benny is well know throughout the Southeast for his innovative techniques and sonic soundscapes utilizing the bass as his primary instrument. He is a well established sideman working with such legendary recording artists as the Indigo Girls. Benny’s textural explorations transcend the worlds of ambient, chill and jazz in a way that is truly unique and distinctly his own.

Finally, we are overwhelmed to include Grammy-nominated and 60+ Billboard #1 charting recording artist/producer Chris Cox to Wayfarer Music Group. Chris is one of the premier producer/DJ/electronic artists in all of music. His remixes for such artists as Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Lady Gaga and more have made him a major name in the genres. His love for other artistic outlets including, the music for the film Pieces of Us composed with Wayfarer recording artist Carl Rydlund, is what eventually led him to Wayfarer. Chris will be releasing select projects with Wayfarer plus, will take on an active role as one of the Advisory Board members.

The popular ambient, chill, electronic and instrumental record label Wayfarer Records has become Wayfarer Music Group. This initiative was put in place by the company’s new owners Sean O’Bryan Smith and Dieter Spears marking a commitment to the label’s community-based philosophy while serving its ever-growing roster of top recording artists and composers. Wayfarer will continue its commitment to being a collective of artists running a full-service record label, production company and music library servicing the music, film, television, corporate and gaming communities.

Wayfarer Records was founded in 2007 by Award-Winning producer, composer and guitarist Dave Luxton. The well-respected Wayfarer Records originally made a name for itself in ambient music with artists such as Luxton, Boreal Taiga, Daren Keck, Jason Blake and more. In 2023, Wayfarer began its restructuring to become an artist community-based entity. With this, they embarked on an aggressive expansion campaign signing a plethora of well-known artists in the genre including ELEON, Ambiente Solstice, Brannan Lane, Byron Metcalf and Grammy Award-Winner Richard Theisen. During this period, Wayfarer also expanded their personnel which led to Smith and Spears both serving as departmental directors.

In mid-2024, Luxton decided to step down as CEO of Wayfarer Records as well as relinquish the company to Smith and Spears. As of August 1^st, 2024, Wayfarer Records officially became Wayfarer Music Group with Smith now serving as President and Spears as Vice-President plus, members of the artist roster assuming multiple directorial positions.

Wayfarer Music Group will continue to service music fans worldwide with their releases as well as increasing efforts on their placement, production and promotional divisions to better serve their artists.

New Album Release | John Gregorius

This month’s featured artist John Gregorius has doubled down with two back to back releases to kick off his next chapter as a Wayfarer recording artist. The widely popular Gregorius is already very well known to music fans worldwide with his ambient virtuosity and impeccable compositions. John first release for Wayfarer was the single Trust from the motion picture Beautiful Faces. Now, John brings us his first full-length album as a Wayfarer entitled Communion. Communion offers listeners John’s most expansive and immersive release to date and once again, John enlisted the help of a longtime collaborator and Wayfarer Sean O’Bryan Smith to serve as bassist for the project. Communion will be available worldwide on major digital platforms on Friday, August 16th! DO NOT MISS this amazing release from one of the finest guitarists creating music today!

Wayfarer artists featured in the motion picture Beautiful Faces

Wayfarer artists John Gregorius and Sean O’Bryan Smith are both featured in the newly released motion picture Beautiful Faces from Emmy award-winning director Dagan W. Beckett. A brand new version of John’s original composition entitled Trust is featured in the motion picture in its entirety. Since its release, Trust has also been showing up on many top radio shows and podcasts including Echoes and Audiosyncracy. Trust is now available from Wayfarer and Beautiful Faces is available on Amazon, Tubi and more.

In addition to John’s appearance in the film, Beautiful Faces was scored by Wayfarer’s own Sean O’Bryan Smith. This marks the second film project for Smith and the Beckett Arts Project ran by Dagan W. Beckett. The first was the widely popular and Emmy award-winning Songbirds released in 2022 where Sean was featured with two of his original compositions. Since then, Sean has been working as music consultant for Beckett Arts Project and stay tuned for news about another Wayfarer on an upcoming Beckett Arts Project film.

Byron Metcalf & Ari Urban’s Rituals of Passion receives tremendous radio support

Wayfarer Music Group’s recording artists Byron Metcalf & Ari Urban are enjoying a fantastic run on radio since the release of their project Rituals of Passion. The inaugural Wayfarer release for either artist, Rituals of Passion also features the multi-talented composer, recording artist Dashmesh. Since its release, Rituals of Passion has shown a commanding presence on radio and has been regularly featured on a number of hit radio programs including New Age Notes, Echoes and Hearts of Space.

Sean O’Bryan Smith reaches #2 on New Age Notes chart

Wayfarer Music Group’s own Sean O’Bryan Smith’s solo release Musings of an Occasional Somebody continues to be a favorite among music fans worldwide. The all-star project features a plethora of world-renowned guest artists including Chinmaya Dunster, John Fluker, Tommy Ogle and Rick Krainak plus, fellow Wayfarers Brannan Lane, Keith Medley and John Gregorius.

Musings of an Occasional Somebody was a mainstay on Echoes and other popular radio programs in 2023. Recently, the album has had a boost among listeners and we were surprised and delighted to see that Musings of an Occasional Somebody is now #2 on New Age Notes monthly singles chart with the song “The Albatross and the Whale featuring John Gregorius and Tommy Ogle”.

Musings of an Occasional Somebody will be rereleased on Wayfarer Music Group on September 1st,2024

Ambiente Solstice’s star-studded Short Stories heralded by music critics

Wayfarer Music Group’s Ambiente Solstice pulled off no small task with his latest release entitled Short Stories. The highly ambitious project marries his love for ambient music with his earlier musical passion of jazz in a totally unique way and critics agree. This album is an absolute musical triumph. Legendary music critic Jonathan Widran referred to Short Stories as “Warm and intimate, lyrical, and soothing yet sonically intricate and dynamic” while Peter Thelen of Expose’ said “his instinctive mastery and gentle touch make every cut shine brightly with colorful melodies and relaxed soft beauty.”

Short Stories boasts one of the most impressive collection of guest artists ever assembled on a project. Some of the artists include 9 time Grammy nominated recording artist Gerald Albright, Grammy Award-winner Jim “Kimo” West, Grammy nominated recording artist Jeff Oster and new age/ambient/experimental bass legend Michael Manring. Short Stories also includes appearances by Jeff Franzel, Joe Cook, Edward Freytag, Stephen Davis, Tommy Ogle and Vail Johnson plus, fellow Wayfarers Billy Denk, Carl Rydlund and Sean O’Bryan Smith who produced the project with Wayfarer Advisory Board member and Staff Producer Richard J. Krainak.

Expose’ praises Rituals of Passion

World-renowned music critic Peter Thelen from Expose’ recently reviewed the premiere Wayfarer release from Wayfarer Music Group recording artists Byron Metcalf and Ari Urban. The album is entitled Rituals of Passion and features acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Dashmesh. When talking about the project, Widran referred to it as “Meditative and mystical, Rituals of Passion immerses the listener in a stunning world of beauty.”
